Opportunities From: Volunteer Northeast Mississippi

Volunteer: Virtual/Remote Volunteer Opportunities

Because many of us are wary of person-to-person contact, we may feel less comfortable with volunteering in the community. But there are LOTS of ways to volunteer from the comfort and safety of your home. Click here for some awesome ideas. You may enjoy these opportunities even when you feel safe going back out into the community!

Volunteer: Independent Volunteer Projects (not connected to a nonprofit agency)

The Tupelo 150 Challenge is for everyone - whether you are volunteering with a nonprofit agency or doing a project on your own. All volunteer efforts are important, and we want to make sure we capture all the hours of work that are being done! If you complete a volunteer project that is not being reported by a nonprofit agency, please make sure you let us know. Simply email rebecca@unitedwaynems.org and tell us how many volunteers you had and how many hours you worked. We will put the information in our tracking system. For ideas about some ways you can volunteer, click here and scroll down to "150 Ways to Volunteer."

Volunteer: Donate to the HOPE Food Pantry at North Mississippi Medical Center

Buying groceries can be difficult for a patient fighting cancer, especially because of the financial burdens caused by cancer treatment. It can be more difficult when diet is limited because of treatment or side effects. By donating non-perishable food to the HOPE Food Pantry, you are helping a local cancer patient through a very stressful time.

Donations can be dropped off at 961 South Gloster or 990 South Madison (both in Tupelo) or 1205 Highway 182 West (Starkville).

For  more information, call 662-377-2269.
