Description

We are inviting volunteers to join us at The Salvation Army for our Thanksgiving Day Community Meal.

This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals, families, seniors, students and groups to help care for those in need this Thanksgiving!

There are not set shift times, please feel free to come when you can and stay as long as you'd like!

Please park across from the Health Department on the corner of Carnation and Church St to keep your vehicle safe and out of the flow of Thanksgiving Lunch Traffic.

Our building will be open beginning at 5am for Food Preparation (carving over 100 turkeys, preparing/heating sides, etc.)

To-Go area will open at 10am. (Boxed lunches served from The Salvation Army Emergency Services Vehicle across the street)

Meal Delivery will open at 10am. (See separate opportunity for this item. When you arrive please enter through door marked "Chapel")

Dine-In lunch service will begin at 10:30am.

We will need help with:

- preparing the smoked turkeys (please bring your favorite knife!)

- assembling boxed meals to be delivered

- delivering boxed meals to the community (see separate opportunity for this need)

- welcoming dine-in guests as they arrive

- serving community members who choose to dine-in

- clean-up once the meal and delivery service is complete

If you have any questions, please contact Captain LeAnna Marion at Leanna.Marion@uss.salvationarmy.org

We anticipate over 2000 meals to be served so please join us for a fun, family-friendly volunteer opportunity that means so much to those in need this Thanksgiving!
