We have 2 websites, 2 facebook accounts, 2 instagram accounts.  We need someone who knows how to update our sites, help with posts to increase our online presence in relevant ways, and assist with creating content and links.  

Phone calls, data entry, office work such as shredding old files, cleaning and reorganizing supplies, managing intake and organization of donated supplies.

MUTEH's #1 priority is to find homeless individuals housing, and do so quickly! We are known for housing quickly, so we are always looking for supplies to give a client once they move into their own place.

The Association for Excellence in Education (AEE) funds innovative grants for teachers in the Tupelo Public School District.  All grant submissions are reviewed by AEE board members and community members, and we are always looking for community members to offer support with this important part of the grant decision making process.

Volunteer Details

Food Distribution: Food is distributed free of charge, thus improving the lives of needy individuals. We strive to provide supplemental food to children, pregnant women, new mothers, elderly people, the jobless, and those going thru a crisis. Mission Okolona receives food from a variety of nonprofit, private, and corporate donors.

Someone is needed to go into the home and provide companionship and be an extra set of eyes for the patient while the caregiver is recovering from surgery. 1-2 hours a day.

Hope Unbridled needs volunteers who could help students on Saturdays at 10:00 am. You must be at least 16 or have three years of horse/riding experience. Thank you!

We need teens, ages 14-18, to help with summer programs!

AmeriCorps VISTA members of the North Mississippi VISTA Project commit to a full-time yearlong term of national service to fight poverty and build capacity for organizations working to improve educational attainment, provide economic opportunities, promote healthy lifestyles, and increase food security among underserved youth and families. 

Our members are placed at school districts, non-profit organizations, and at the University of Mississippi working on projects to promote capacity building, sustainable solutions, actionable partnerships, and community empowerment.  Yearlong AmeriCorps VISTA members complete 40 hours of indirect service work at their host site each week during the normal workday, but actual work hours and project activities may vary across partner sites.  Activities may include but aren’t limited to:

Hospice volunteers are needed for various opportunities. (Singing, visiting, devotions, running errands, mowing yards) Volunteering with Halcyon is very rewarding! We host many community projects and serve the patients and their families. 

April's Angels installed a handicap-accessible playground at Itawamba Attendance Center. The playground could use some spring cleaning, power washing, or good old soap and water washing. 

It is time to start collecting items for our Christmas baskets! We collect items, make a gift basket and deliver them to assisted living and nursing home residents! This is the only gift some of the residents receive. Help us spread Christmas cheer and let them know they are loved and not forgotten. Also, the personal care items are very much needed as sometimes money is tight for our residents.  We have made an amazon wish list and will post the link below. These are just ideas, and you should feel free to add to the list and get whatever you think an elderly resident would like to receive. Also, the items do not have to come from the Amazon wish list. We accept items from any store! For example, you may drop off items at United Way of NEMS. The amazon delivery will automatically go there. Gift cards or monetary donations are also appreciated. We are looking for individuals or organizations to help us host a community forum on Alzheimer's and dementia.  

The purpose of the Community Forum is to learn about real-life experiences of communities with the disease, educate about resources, and learn how to engage more people. It is an important community assessment step to identify needs and service gaps within the community, and classify targets for expanded outreach.

The ideal audience would be caregivers, professionals and those who are interested in helping with the cause.

Lee County 4-H is looking for a volunteer willing to help teach a Photography club. This would be a brand new club that we are trying to start due to a tremendous amount of interest that we have had in this project area. Being good with kids/youth is a must! 

*Interested parties would also need to complete and application and background check process per MSU guidelines.*

Safe Haven residents, especially new residents, often need underwear, socks, t-shirts etc. The facility also could use household items such as laundry detergent, dryer sheets, soap, shampoo, dish liquid. Snacks and candy are always enjoyed! Space is limited for storage, but items would be greatly appreciated. 

Our work to promote awareness stands out from the sea of pink ribbons that dominate Breast Cancer Awareness. While other companies are turning pink for the cause, we instead share lemons—lemons that TEACH information that actually saves lives. Something that a pink ribbon alone cannot do.

OUR VISION IS A WORLD WHERE FEWER WOMEN (AND MEN) DIE FROM BREAST CANCER. Our Certified Global Educators are the WARRIORS in our mission. Without our educators, we can't continue our mission. We create educational tools and training to help our volunteer educators, known as "Lemonistas," reach people in ways never before possible with breast cancer-that overcome taboo, literacy and fear-and are completely inclusive of gender, age, ethnicity and background.

In order to expand our reach to as many as possible, we want to empower educators with training and tools to make an impact in their local communities and abroad through our new online course. Our Know Your Lemons(r) certified online course gives Lemonistas the knowledge and skills they need in order to teach with the most impact.No health background is necessary. On average, the course takes about 2 hours to complete and is offered in English.

To become a Know Your Lemons(r) Global Educator, you must fill out an application below. Upon passing the course, educators receive a digital teaching kit, complete with:

- powerpoint deck with visuals as only Know Your Lemons(r) can do (works in any language, any background, any age, any gender).

- two digital games to play: a memory matching game to teach the 12 signs of breast cancer, and a steps for detection game to teach the options available for screening and diagnosis

- a Know Your Lemons(r) app that can help those you teach stay on top of their breast health, book mammograms and teach them how to self-exam (and more) - a Know Your Lemons(r) teaching certificate

- access to the Know Your Lemons Global Educator Network, with webinars to exchange best practice and submit update requests

We are asking for a volunteer who has a leaf blower to clean the Delivery area, drive and parking lot.  This service can be done at the volunteer's convenience anytime.

We are in need of volunteers to clean the outside of our windows.  Please bring your own supplies to accomplish this. We have about 5 double pant windows.  This opportunity may be accomplished at anytime.  It is a one time need.

Occasionally we need various projects that include maintenance or carpentry work.

Licensed Pharmacist to approve Pharmacy Tech prescriptions 

Office intake prior to doctors visit(vital signs, weight, medication review, labs and test needed, purpose of visit.   Assisting MD as needed.  Both Medical, Diabetes Clinic and GYN appointments.   

Prepare paper medical charts for next visit.  Call patients to remind them of appointments, Filing, Setting up new charts.

Assisting staff with the supervision of children up to age 18 years old. Duties may include assisting with cooking and cleaning.

Volunteers would have to go through all background checks including fingerprinting.

Be one of the troop co-leaders that supports her every week—the one that watches her smile get bigger as she grows more confident. Mentor a Girl Scout Cookie Professional during cookie season so she can earn enough to reach the goals she and her troop set. Or work with other adults to provide the kind of behind-the-scenes support that makes it possible for her to make amazing new memories at Girl Scouts.

Whether you can give a few hours, a few weeks, or a few months, volunteering with Girl Scouts is flexible and fun.

Doctors, nurses, and nurse practitioners needed for the evening clinics in Okolona, Pontotoc, and Tupelo - Especially Pontotoc!  

You are instrumental in connecting your church with Life Choices and events pertaining to life. Opportunities to organize your church to pray for and support the center through material needs and/or financially. Help spread the word about Life Choices to your church community. We will provide you with the information you need in order to share with your church family.

Volunteer drivers provide transportation to our Tupelo area clients to scheduled appointments using their own vehicles. Drivers log into our online portal and choose transports that fit their schedules. During Thanksgiving week, some of our regular drivers will be out of town. Our clients would be so grateful if you would step in and help out!

Do you have a skill or talent you'd like to share with young people? Or do you enjoy games of all kinds? Why not plan an activity to carry out at Faith Haven? Ideas include painting, board games, crafts, skits, story-telling, exercise, and dancing. You can choose to work with younger children or older children. Plan a couple hours of fun and have a ball!

Volunteers must go through the all background checks including fingerprinting.

Buying groceries can be difficult for a patient fighting cancer, especially because of the financial burdens caused by cancer treatment. It can be more difficult when diet is limited because of treatment or side effects. By donating non-perishable food to the HOPE Food Pantry, you are helping a local cancer patient through a very stressful time.

Donations can be dropped off at 961 South Gloster or 990 South Madison (both in Tupelo) or 1205 Highway 182 West (Starkville).

A committed Christian woman who is interested in training to fulfill this position. Peer counselors listen to clients without passing judgment and offer a full range of parenting options to help clients make an informed decision. We ask for a commitment of, at least, two to three hours each week so you can work with the same clients throughout their pregnancy.

The area director needs a volunteer to assist with various administrative duties: answering phones, filing, data entry, etc.

If you have skills building and maintaining websites, the Boys and Girls Clubs of Northeast Mississippi could use your help. We need a website that promotes our clubs in Iuka, Baldwyn, Corinth, and Booneville. The hours you volunteer would be flexible, based upon our needs and your schedule.

You can choose to help us with tutoring/reading weekly, monthly, or as needed. You will need to complete the volunteer application and understand that a background check will be required ($20).
