No teaching degree required — just patience and encouragement. A couple hours a week can change a kid's whole outlook on school. Background Check Required.

Volunteering at Gentiva Hospice comes in a variety of forms. If you are comfortable with face-to-face contact with the patients and their caregivers, you may choose to visit their homes or care facilities to offer companionship and socialization. You may even play games, read, or play music. In doing so, you bring comfort to the patients and respite to their caregivers.

If, on the other hand, you do not feel comfortable in the home/facility setting, how about sending out encouraging notes to the patients? Or, you may enjoy making calls to patients/caregivers to check in with them and remind them that we care and want to make things as easy for them as possible.

The building of First Choice Center for Women can use a soft wash power wash, and the sidewalk and wheelchair ramp also need to be pressure washed. Volunteers should provide their own equipment for this volunteer opportunity. 

First Choice Center for Women facility needs paint on exterior trim and exterior doors as well as a fresh coat of stain on their cedar posts. Ideal candidate for this volunteer position would be experienced in painting/staining and have supplies needed to complete the project, i.e. brushes, rollers, pans, etc. The job can be broken into two separate volunteer opportunities. 

We are looking for individuals or lawn maintenance companies to join our alternating schedule for lawn maintenance for this summer. Opportunities include mowing, weed eating, and spraying weeds. All volunteers should provide their own equipment.

The gutters on the building of First Choice Center for Women, Inc. are filled with leaves from surrounding trees and need to be cleaned out. Can you help us with this need? Volunteers should have their own ladder to access the gutters and blower to blow off the sidewalks and parking area.

As a Disaster Sheltering Service Associate you will provide shelter, comfort and food to Benton County area families inside a Red Cross shelter after a disaster event.

Shelter Service Associates complete tasks necessary for shelter operations and help disaster clients. Activities within a Red Cross shelter may include working in reception, registration, feeding, dormitory, information, or helping volunteers and clients in other ways.

Train further and gain experience to become a Sheltering Supervisor to direct and support a team of caring and capable Shelter Service Associates.

This position is perfect for groups who want to volunteer and serve together. We are eager to share details or schedule a speaker to introduce the opportunities to your community or faith-based group.

About the Role
As a Readiness Coach, you'll assist with public events that bring personal and emergency readiness skills directly to the community. You’ll support activities like CPR pop-up presentations, outreach tables, and volunteer-led workshops designed to improve confidence, safety, and career opportunities across your county.
This is a supervised, hands-on opportunity to serve without needing prior experience or certifications.

The Ford Center for the Performing Arts, located on the campus of Ole Miss, hosts a variety of events each year. Ushers are a key part of our successful events. Ushers greet patrons, distribute programs, show guests to their seats, answer questions, and sell concessions and merchandise. We are looking for kind and helpful people to join our team of ushers. There is no minimum or maximum number of events you need to volunteer at. You sign up for the events that fit your schedule and interest you. Our event schedule varies weekly. Events can be day or evening, weekday or weekend. We ask that our volunteers wear black pants/skirts and white shirts/tops/sweaters for their shifts. Volunteers are able to watch for free the events that they sign up to work. I am looking for a couple individuals who can come talk to my 2nd grade class about personal hygiene. I would love for my volunteers to read a book to my students, do a little activity with each visit, and maybe even get a toothbrush kit or deodorant to keep at the end.
