I am looking for a couple individuals who can come talk to my 2nd grade class about personal hygiene. I would love for my volunteers to read a book to my students, do a little activity with each visit, and maybe even get a toothbrush kit or deodorant to keep at the end.

Come swing a hammer with us any weekday (except Tuesdays) from 8am-2pm at 3464 S Green Street, Tupelo. Instruction and supervision will be provided by our able construction staff who will work along side with you. Construction experience is helpful but certainly not necessary. If parking next to build is full, additional parking is available at the rear of the Link Centre. All tools and equipment are provided. Due to the muddy conditions at our build site, rain boots or sturdy closed-toed shoes work best. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a hat for sunny weather.

The Ford Center for the Performing Arts, located on the campus of Ole Miss, hosts a variety of events each year. Ushers are a key part of our successful events. Ushers greet patrons, distribute programs, show guests to their seats, answer questions, and sell concessions and merchandise. We are looking for kind and helpful people to join our team of ushers. There is no minimum or maximum number of events you need to volunteer. You sign up for the events that fit your schedule and interest you. Our event schedule varies weekly. Events can be day or evening, weekday or weekend. We ask that our volunteers wear black pants/skirts and white shirts/tops/sweaters for their shifts. Volunteers are able to watch for free the events that they sign up to work. The building of First Choice Center for Women needs a soft wash power washing, and the sidewalk and wheelchair ramp also need to be pressure washed. Volunteers should provide their own equipment for this volunteer opportunity. 

First Choice Center for Women facility has an iron railing that flanks the wheelchair ramp that is showing rust through the original paint.  A new coat of paint is needed on that rail and also on the exterior doors as well as a fresh coat of stain on their cedar posts.

We are looking for individuals or lawn maintenance companies to join our alternating schedule for lawn maintenance for the summer. Opportunities include mowing, weed eating, and spraying weeds. 

The gutters on the building of First Choice Center for Women, Inc. are filled with leaves from surrounding trees and need to be cleaned out.

United Way NEMS is so grateful for all our individual donors. The 46 partner agencies that we provide grants to rely in large part on the generosity of the good folks in Northeast Mississippi. While you as an individual may not be able to donate to United Way, you may be able to find a way to generate some donations by hosting your own fundraiser. We receive large deliveries of various food items on Thursday. Therefore, we need volunteers who are available 9:00 am and can lift heavy loads from trucks to pallets and operate loaded carts, stock pantry shelves, refrigerators, and freezer shelves. Although deliveries fluctuate, some usually occur on Thursday between 9:00 and 12.

We receive large deliveries of various food items; therefore, we need volunteers who can lift heavy loads from trucks and operate loaded carts, stock pantry shelves, refrigerators, and freezer shelves.  Volunteers needed Monday, Tuesday and/or Wednesday from 9:00 - 2:00.

RRC has several pediatric gyms that are used on a daily basis. Volunteers are always needed with reorganizing and cleaning in that room. Thank you for considering. 

We are looking for volunteers who are dedicated to help us deliver hot meals to elders in the community Monday - Friday at 11 am. It takes 45 min. to an hour to deliver one route. As might be expected, we are experiencing a shortage of volunteers. We are in need of substitute volunteers as well for when one of our scheduled volunteers can't make it to deliver their route.

If you can help us, our clients would be most appreciative. For many of them, the meals we provide are the only nutritious food they receive.

SAFE, Inc., is seeking an enthusiastic Office Organization Guru to join our team. This regular, steady volunteer role involves organizing files, filing, making copies, and more, helping us stay on track with essential office tasks. Join us and make a meaningful impact in our mission!

Saints' Brew (located at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Tupelo) serves hot breakfasts each week day morning. This is an inside sit down meal service ministry for all who are food insecure and walk through our door. We are open from 7am to 8:30am. Volunteers are needed to serve food, prepare coffee, set up before service begins and clean up after. We practice best safety and hygiene protocol for the wellbeing of all.

If you feel comfortable volunteering, we would appreciate your help. You can choose to volunteer any length of time between 6am to 9am. We would appreciate if you can volunteer for at least 1-2 hours. You may volunteer one day a week or more depending on your schedule.

This is a great volunteering opportunity early in the morning especially if you like to get active earlier in the day.

This volunteer opportunity involves loading food items into containers according to a prepared content list.  It requires transferring boxes of food from an outside freezer/refrigerator and inside storage shelves to the preparation area inside. Lifting heavy prepared containers onto carts for delivery may be required. Volunteers are needed Mondays 9:30 - 12:00.

Project Clean Tees is needing men and women to assist in upcoming activities for Tupelo and Lee County Schools. We volunteer to go to schools in the Lee County area and speak to the children and do activities with them as well. We want to gather as many volunteers as we can to help us with any programs we do put on for the schools. We are asking for men and women to reach out to us to volunteer. The activity will be at Pierce Street School April 3, 2024 @ 1:30p - 2:30p.

Lasagna Love is spreading throughout Missssippi! If you love to cook and are looking for a kind way to put that skill to work, we need volunteers! We are especially in need of chefs in the Northeast area of MS where we have many requests and very few volunteers. 

We provide complimentary meals to those in need. Whether the need is financial, health-related, emotional or your neighbor is just plain exhausted, we bring a lasagna or some other meal.  Our goals are to feed families, spread kindness and strengthen communities!

Of these, about 50,000 are single and multi-family fires and other localized events to which the Red Cross Disaster Action teams respond. We distribute boxes of food on the 3rd Saturday of each month, so on the Friday night prior, we need volunteers to pack food into the boxes. You do not have to be able to lift the boxes to be helpful. As long as you can place a can into the box, you can make a difference! We're located in the old grammar (elementary) school cafeteria between Clifton and Cummings Streets.

We pack boxes for our 3rd Saturday distribution on the Thursday before the 3rd Saturday. Volunteers will load food in boxes on the assembly line. This normally takes 3-45 minutes. 

On the 3rd Saturday of the month, we distribute boxes of food to clients. Our warehouse is the beige metal building behind the high school cafeteria.

 Those with strong backs are encouraged to help.

If you know anyone that could benefit from receiving a box, tell them to come to Mantachie Methodist Church on the 3rd Saturday morning from 8 - 10. They need to bring proof of residence and proof of income.

As a Grandbuddy Volunteer, you will have the opportunity to bond with children and make a difference in their lives by assisting them with reading, tutoring, mentoring, and attending extracurricular activities and events.

Being a grandbuddy is not a job. Therefore, you don't have to worry about being lured out of retirement, since the program is geared towards seniors who are mostly retired or disabled and Children that will benefit the most by bonding with their gb. We strive to make it feasible for grandbuddies to remain active in their communities without having to deal with out-of-pocket expenses.

Benefits:

Volunteers are needed weekly to assist with the packing and distribution of food boxes. Heavy lifting is not required, however volunteers will need to be comfortable with standing/walking for long periods of time. 

The qualified volunteer should be comfortable driving a box truck. Additionally, the individual will need to be comfortable dealing with the loading and unloading of heavy pallets of food. Ideally, the volunteer will posses a CDL and have a clean driving record. This position is subject to a background check along with a thorough vetting process.

The volunteer coordinator needs to be a great communicator and be comfortable with texting or calling large groups of people. The best candidate would take ownership of the position and streamline efforts to keep volunteers informed and serve as a point person for when regular volunteers need to be out of town or miss a regular volunteer time.

C.A.S.A. is a small non-profit that has been in operation for more than 40 years.  We provide affordable After School Care and Summer Programing to elementary age children in the Tupelo area.  The age of our children are from Pre-K to 6th Grade.  As we serve upwards of 200 children in our two programs, we are in a constant need of replacing our toys with newer ones that have been slightly used by their new owners.  We like to think of the movie Toy Story, where Woody gets a new home with new children to play with him!  Donations may be brought by our office.

C.A.S.A. is a small non-profit that has been in operation for more than 40 years, providing affordable after school care and summer programing to families and children in the Tupelo area.  Our full time staff only consist of two staff members, with the rest being part time staff who provide our child care in the afternoons and during our summers.  The Executive Director and Administrative Assistant need volunteer help in the office with day-to-day office organization and filing, answering the phone in the afternoons, when we have to be at our sites or on transportation duties, and running errands including shopping for snacks.  If you are interested, please contact us at 662-842-3887.

Prisoner Visitation and Support (PVS) is the only organization authorized by the Federal Bureau of Prisons and the Department of Defense to visit any prisoner in the Federal and Military prison systems. The primary focus is on seeing those prisoners with an acute need for human contact -- those prisoners without regular visits, those serving long sentences who are far from home, those in solitary confinement and on death row, and those who are frequently transferred from prison to prison. PVS visitors let the prisoners set the agenda for what they discuss. Common concerns are: lack of contact with family, untreated medical problems, work or educational plans upon release, current events, literature, etc.
