Who We Are
The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Tupelo, MS, established in 1991, is an interfaith, not-for-profit organization working with older adults. We are dedicated to a mission of empowering older adults to live complete and independent lives to the full extent of their capabilities through the development of programs of service and enrichment which improve the quality of life for all older adults in the community.
What We Do
The Shepherd’s Center of Greater Tupelo, MS provides cost-free transportation, via volunteer drivers, for Tupelo area older adults, living independently but unable to drive, to medical, rehab, and therapy appointments; grocery store/ food pantry visits; and pharmacy. We also provide homebound visitation and monthly gatherings that provide a sense of community and socialization for many older adults in the greater Tupelo, MS area.
All activities and transports offered by Shepherd’s Center are accomplished by volunteers, using their own vehicles, within the community. In addition to our host of volunteers, Shepherd’s Center is sustained by the generosity of individual donors, church sponsors, civic organization sponsors, and the United Way.
