What We Do

Safe Haven is a temporary shelter for homeless adults in Tishomingo County and surrounding Mississippi counties. The shelter is located in Burnsville, MS. Residents are required to: ​Obtain a job & fulfill job duties Attend church & self-help meetings Live in community with others Perform assigned chores Abide by curfew Remain alcohol and drug-free We do not accept individuals who: Are a danger to themselves or others Receive disability Are physically and/or mentally handicapped Are involved in domestic violence situations Have been charged or convicted of sexual and/or violent crimes Are actively detoxing from IV drug use, alcohol, and/or benzodiazepines Are on drug court Safe Haven is for individuals only. We do not accept children or families. We do not allow pets. Residents can have a criminal record and be on parole or probation. Once employed, residents are required to pay a bed fee.
