The Association for Excellence in Education (AEE) funds innovative grants for teachers in the Tupelo Public School District. All grant submissions are reviewed by AEE board members and community members, and we are always looking for community members to offer support with this important part of the grant decision making process.
Volunteer Details
- Requirements - Community reviewers should be 18 years or older, and TPSD students and teachers are NOT eligible to review grants.
- Timeframe - The TPSD teachers submit their grant applications in February, and the AEE Grants Chair shares the grant applications and rubric with the community reviewers in March. The community reviewers then have March / early April to submit the completed rubrics.
- Specific Support - Each community reviewer is assigned 4-5 grants to review with an estimated timeframe of 1-2 hours to read the grants and score them on the structured rubric. Each grant is reviewed on an 11 point rubric, and all portions of the rubric must be completed before submission (see image attached).
- Questions - Any questions about the grant review process can be directed to the AEE Grants Chair Leah Herndon at lshale3@yahoo.com.
